Specialist Performance Improvement (IV, Senior and Staff levels)
SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the Performance Improvement Team in data gathering, analysis, action planning and implementation of the station's continuous improvement process program. The continuous improvement process includes the following programs: Human Performance, Observations, Operating Experience, Causal Analysis, Trending, Corrective Action Program, Performance Indicators and Self Assessments. Responsible for evaluating program performance data to identify gaps in performance excellence and to develop corrective action recommendations for plant management.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor degree in a technical area (Preferred)
• Without a degree, 5 years technical experience at an operating commercial nuclear plant or equivalent. (i.e., Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Work Control etc.) may be considered.
EXPERIENCE
• Spec Perf Improvement IV - 2 Years experience at an operating commercial nuclear plant or equivalent (i.e., Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Work Control etc.)
• Spec Perf Improvement Sr - 5 Years experience at an operating commercial nuclear plant or equivalent (i.e., Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Work Control etc.)
• Spec Perf Improvement Staff - 8 Years experience at an operating commercial nuclear plant or equivalent (i.e., Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Work Control etc.)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
• Root Cause Analysis Certification (Preferred)
• Apparent Cause Evaluation Certification (Preferred)
• Human Performance Certifications (Preferred)
• Lean 6 Sigma Training (Preferred)
• Procedure Writer Certification (Preferred)
• Microsoft Power BI Certification (Preferred)
• Oracle Analytics Cloud Certification (Preferred)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Initiates deficiency documentation and evaluates responses to deficiency documents and recommendations.
• Verifies adequacy of corrective actions and prepares oversight activity reports.
• Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
• Monitors work group reports and recommendations to ensure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
• Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept ERO position as needed.
• Accept outage position as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
• Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Adjunct instructor or qualified instructor preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of plant design, licensing basis, plant operations, procedures, regulatory interface, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of Human Performance concepts and proven activities to enhance and improve Human performance including behavior modification techniques at both a personal and organizational level.
• Lead the implementation of performance improvement activities in conjunction with business unit and support groups.
• Solid understanding of research and data mining; ability to use statistical analysis to develop trend data and reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
• Travel may be required.
• May be required to carry a phone.
WORK LOCATION
• Site – Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
