SUMMARY

Provides assistance to Outage, Operations and Work Control to develop, establish and maintain Equipment Clearance Orders (ECO) in support of outage or online work activities.

 

EDUCATION

  • Associates degree in technical discipline (Mathematics, Physical Science, or Engineering Technology) (Preferred).
  • Without a degree, completion of Operations, Maintenance, or Performance Tech apprentice program, or 6 years in Navy Nuclear program may be considered.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Spec Equip Clearance Order - 5 Years of industrial or power plant experience (Required).
  • Spec Equip Clearance Order Sr - 5 Years Equipment Clearance Order, Lockout Tagout, or equivalent preparer activities (Required).

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current or previously licensed Reactor Operator (Preferred)

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the preparation of Equipment Clearance Orders IAW 0PGP03-ZO-EC01A which ensures proper protection of plant personnel and equipment during the performance of scheduled work activities.
  • Reviews drawings and work documents with craft supervision.
  • Interfaces with internal and external groups through supporting Outage, Operations, Work Control and Station processes.
  • Implements assigned programs and provides assistance to departments.
  • Participates in continuous improvement planning and implementation in area of responsibility.
  • Communicates unique component or system configurations to the ECO Technical Reviewer and/or Issuing Authority. Prepares revisions to support returning equipment to service.
  • Generates Equipment Clearance Orders for Outage (forced or planned). Supports Operations and/or Online work control in development of Equipment Clearance Orders, as necessary.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, analysis, and reporting of performance against established site and department goals/performance indicators for the assigned department.
  • Assists in the development of corrective actions to address adverse trends detected based on performance indicator results. Assists in the development of corrective actions to address Areas for Improvement identified in self-assessments.
  • Assists in CAP and other investigations.
  • Monitors Equipment Clearance Order preparation.
  • Maintains integrated databases as required to support the assigned department needs. Generates special reports and lessons learned, as necessary.
  • Remains aware of industry events, business issues, and innovations to ensure the assigned department maintains high industry standards.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to use mathematics to compute job completion times for budgeting and work planning.
  • Ability to track work activities planned, in progress and completed as assigned.
  • Knowledge of plant design, operations and generation procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand plant drawings (piping, electrical, logic, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written). Ability to write complete, concise, clear reports.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure or during plant emergencies.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accept ERO position as needed.
  • Accept outage position as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Must obtain and maintain qualification STP ECO Acceptor (NTD027) or Equipment Clearance Order – Operations (NTD028).
  • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
  • Travel may be required.
  • May be required to carry phone.

 

WORK LOCATION

  • Site – Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
