Supervisor Strategic Projects
SUMMARY
Responsible for supervising strategic projects related to Station programs and processes. Responsible for overall strategic projects portfolio management, coordinates project assignments, monitors staff workload and oversight for technical & troubleshooting support, design changes in support of emergent activities, long range planning, performance/condition monitoring, preventive/predictive maintenance strategies, plant system/component support and administration of station programs. Provides day to day supervision to resources to fulfill department and station project goals and to assure proper implementation and application of corporate policy and guidelines.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor degree in engineering or technical field (preferably) Construction Management, or Engineering Technology. (Preferred)
• Without a degree, 5 years’ experience in nuclear, commercial, engineering, or maintenance primarily focused on plant maintenance and or project management, contractor management and scheduling may be considered.
EXPERIENCE
• 5 years’ experience in nuclear, commercial, engineering or maintenance focused on maintenance and or project management, contractor management, scheduling (Required).
• 5 years’ experience in a nuclear facility (Preferred).
• 2 years supervisory experience. (Required)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
• Project Management Professional (PMP) (Preferred)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
PROJECT MANAGEMENT (ENGINEERING):
Performs Project Management responsibilities on assigned projects, including development of budgets and schedules, readiness evaluations, project execution and closure.
• Develops input for Division / Department budget and business planning in area of expertise.
• Prepares, reviews, and issues Design Change Packages as assigned.
• Monitors department and contractor activities for compliance with applicable codes, standards, quality assurance and other requirements.
STRATEGIC PROJECTS - SUPERVISOR:
Day to day leadership of the planning and implementation of area projects and supervises associated project resources.
• Provides input with the evaluation of personnel and outside contractors and managing contractors through all phases of projects.
• Assures quality standards and compliance factors are met during all projects.
• Evaluates and approves contracts and coordinates supplies needed through Supply Chain processes.
• Provides technical and team leadership in the critical areas of technical training and knowledge transfer.
• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
• Ensures Station, Management and Regulatory commitments are met.
FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Maintains fiscal records and procedures of the department to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the department.
• Understands and manages to financial and budget targets. Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions.
• Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds strategically.
• Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions and takes accountability for financial decisions within area.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
• Ensures development plans are in place and followed.
• Performs personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals).
• Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
• Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
• Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
• Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
• Maintains composure in high stress or adverse situations.
• Understands and implements company policies.
• Provides employees with tools and training necessary for them to perform their assignments.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept Outage position.
• Accept ERO position and be able to meet the response requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed.
• Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
• Travel may be required.
• May be required to carry a phone.
WORK LOCATION
• Site – Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
