SUMMARY
Performs functions that support nuclear fuel reliability such as radiochemistry trending, fuel fabrication oversight, and planning and oversight of fuel inspection activities.  Provides cross-functional support for dry cask storage, spent fuel management, and nuclear engineering calculations.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
•    There is no Licensure or Certification required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Fuel Assembly Management: Coordinate repairs, and inspections of nuclear fuel assemblies, provides fuel handling recommendations to Operations, and owns the fuel integrity program. 
•    Fuel Performance: Trend, monitor, and analyze plant indications for failed fuel or core components.   Support as required fuel fabrication vendor oversight activities. Monitor lifetime and recommend replacement schedules for core components such as control rods and secondary sources. 
•    Fuel Engineering: Identify and perform engineering evaluations of nuclear fuel and core component conditions adverse to quality. Evaluate nuclear fuel and core component design changes, provide technical support for spent fuel management issues. 
•    Fuel Inspections and Repair: Work with the fuel vendor and other station stakeholders to perform or coordinate assigned duties during nuclear fuel receipt, inspection and repair activities, and fuel cleaning campaigns. Evaluate results and provide recommendations to management. 
•    Technical Support: Prepare and review procedures, calculations, safety evaluations, and technical computer codes. Perform reviews of operating experience reports and license amendment changes.  As required, prepare reports of inspection results to Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). 
•    Provide engineering expertise when required to support complex plant issues or requests for assistance from other site organizations. 
•    Act as "CHAMPION" for nuclear fuel performance. Advocate for fuel integrity program health with an emphasis on improving overall plant performance and reliability. 

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION POSTED
•    Strong written and verbal communications skills required. 
•    Ability to work independently and interface with all levels of personnel required. 
•    Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings. 
•    Provides support for fuel related activities during refueling outages and for physics testing.  

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Accept outage position as assigned.
•    Accept ERO position as assigned and be able to meet the time 75-minute response requirement.
•    Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
•    Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.

WORKING CONDITIONS 
•    Overtime and alternate work schedules as assigned.
•    Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
•    Travel (including overnight stay) may be required for business trips and training depending on the position.
•    May be required to carry a phone.

•    Site – Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
