Summary
The General Supervisor, Work Control (WC) Implementation, oversees the development and implementation of the Authorized Work Schedule and Emergent activities. Ensures work schedule is evaluated for Work Risk, Operational and Reactivity impact. Assists in the development, implementation, analysis, and reporting of performance against established site and department goals. Coordinates and oversees the actions/responsibilities of WC Cycle Managers, WC Screeners, IMT SRO and the Work Week Managers
In addition, provides supervisory oversight of the scheduling, schedule review, work execution, and performance review processes from T-16 through T+1. Supports nuclear safety by providing timely identification, selection, planning, coordination, and execution of work necessary to maximize the availability and reliability of station equipment and systems and by managing the risk associated with scheduling and conducting work. Maximizes the efficiency and effectiveness of station staff and material resources
Education
Current or previous RO or SRO License in nuclear plant operations, or 5 years’ experience in nuclear plant operations (journeyman level or above), or 5 years’ experience in maintenance scheduling with knowledge of nuclear plant operations.
Experience
Eight years’ experience as an SRO or RO in nuclear plant operations, or 8 years’ experience in nuclear plant operations (journeyman level or above), or 8 years’ experience in maintenance scheduling with knowledge of nuclear plant operations.
License/Certifications
One of the following preferred: Current or previous SRO License, SRO Certification or RO License.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs activities of assigned personnel to support completion of work activities as scheduled in support of the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the units.
- Perform personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals, development plans). Resolves problems and interpersonal conflicts in the section.
- Sets priorities, establishes schedules, and reviews and monitors activities of the work group.
- Serves as the Subject Matter Expert for the WC Implementation organization.
- Executes duties and responsibilities in accordance with approved plant procedures.
- Monitors performance of work activities to improving the efficiency of the work process.
- Implements Company and Station policies, procedures, and quality programs.
- Provides oversight, monitoring and improvements of work processes.
- Develops, implements and reviews technical and administrative procedures. Provides performance criteria and monitoring for the WC Implementation organization to ensure continuous improvement in services provided to support Station and Department goals.
- Provides direction to assigned personnel in the performance of planning activities.
- Routinely interfaces with personnel from operations, engineering, maintenance, health physics, chemistry and projects management.
- Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
- Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
- Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
- Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
- Budgets for ongoing and future expenses and monitor budget performance.
- Provides employees with tools and training necessary for them to perform their assignments.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to the Radiological Control Area (RCA).
- Strong verbal and written communication. Proficient use of software to write complete, concise, clear reports and prepare and deliver presentations to STPNOC Management.
- Knowledge of the Work Control Processes, procedures and implementation and working knowledge of the modification process.
- Knowledge of equipment important to Nuclear Safety and how to schedule work to minimize time station is in an LCO.
- Knowledge of ESF Actuation and Trips to ensure activities are scheduled and reviewed to prevent conflicts/scheduling errors.
- Working knowledge of in-plant maintenance activities and coordination. Working knowledge of Plant systems, Operations and generation procedures and site licensing documents including Technical Specifications, UFSAR, E-Plan and 10CFR50.72
- Ability to be flexible and organized. Maintain a professional demeanor under pressure or during plant emergencies

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
- Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
